Parent Night Respite Event
Self-Care Time for Caregivers!
We all love our kids, and we all need some adult time too. Enjoy time away while VDSA staff and volunteers keep your children safe and occupied! This event is open to families of individuals with Down syndrome. Email Sherry to join the waitlist for this event if registration is closed: sklauer@virginiadsa.org.
The VDSA Parents Night Respite Event will take place on Friday, November 1 from 6 pm- 8 pm at the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church (215 Richmond Rd., Williamsburg). Individuals with Down syndrome and their siblings are welcome at this event. Games and activities will be provided for the attendees. Please bring a labeled bagged dinner (something that does not need to be heated) and a water bottle as well as any other supplies your children may need during their time with us (diapers, wipes etc).
When you register, please add tickets for all of the children that will attend AND yourself (we will need your email address!). You will also receive an email requesting additional information about your children that will assist us as we care for them. We must receive all of the information back before Wednesday 10/30 to ensure your family's participation.
VDSA staff (who have all passed criminal background checks) along with trained volunteers will be on sight to supervise the attendees. The max attendance for this event is 10 participants so the event will book up quickly!
Williamsburg Presbyterian is within walking distance of Merchant's Square with many shops and restaurants and the beautiful campus of William & Mary, so feel free to park at the church and walk to your destination!
*If we do not reach the minimum amount of participants by Monday 10/28, we will reschedule this event.*
